LinkedIn is planning to discontinue the stories option from the end of next month.

LinkedIn will remove the stories option from the end of the following month for a seamless and professional experience for the users as the platform is for the professional identity.

LinkedIn stated that they had introduced the stories option last year as a fun and casual way to share video updates with their followers. LinkedIn officials have observed many things from this project, and now they are planning to execute these learnings to enhance the story format into a redesigned video sharing experience across the platform, which will be more affluent and more conversational which will hold closely with mixed media and creativity tools for stories in a consistent way across the Platform.

LinkedIn is working on this to assimilate it more firmly with your professional identity on your profile.

As a result of these circumstances, LinkedIn is going to discontinue stories from September end permanently.

LinkedIn is also sending this update to the page admin in the notification message.

From the critical learning from LinkedIn stories project, they have stated the user response about that –

  • Users want their stories like content to be on the platform for more than 24 hours and should be available on the user's profile.

  • Users want a more creative tool to make their video content more engaging across the platform.

As a result of this observation, they will include these two elements in their next video project. This project is supposed to start at the end of next month.

LinkedIn has not provided any other information apart from this replacement of the video-sharing platform, which they are looking forward to developing.

This update will be more professional to showcase the user's talent and create more engagement to the platform.
