Instagram was testing its new sponsored product listings feature from the last few weeks in a beta version which uses suggestions to the target audience on the Instagram shop tab. After the test, Instagram will roll out this new feature of sponsored product listing to all the merchants in the shop tab.
Brands listing their products in the Instagram app will now promote their product on the shop tab along with a ‘sponsored’ marking the paid ad post, which would be highlighted to customers.
Instagram further clarified that after the successful testing, we are launching ads on the Instagram shop tab worldwide to make it convenient for the user to explore and shop from various brands whenever they are browsing through the shopping tab. These ads will be appearing in tiles format on the Instagram home page of the shop tab.
When the user clicks on the sponsored product listed on the shop tab, it will take the user to the product detail page, where the user will know more about the product. The page on which detail is mention will also show the additional products of the same brand. Users will see the “More from this shop” option, which will show the user more products from the same brand.
An additional benefit of this update will be that the user can save the sponsored product list in the wish list of the user and also will be able to share the details with friends for further reference.
The latest sponsored product listing update would benefit the user and customers by generating more engagement and traffic on the shop tab. The customers can easily select the various products offered by the brand on a single platform.
