Online marketing has supported many Micro, small and medium organizations in the Lampung, Indonesia region to endure and even increase their sales substantially during the COVID-19 pandemic scenario, states the local government of Lampung.
Syamsurizal Ari, Head of Lampung’s cooperatives and MSMEs office, states that many MSMEs that they have come across can grow their production and increase their revenue merits to Digital marketing strategies.
As per Ari, amides Covid-19 pandemic, traveling, and social activities have been restricted. Still, his officials have constantly encouraged and motivated local businesses to survive and pursue new opportunities through online business.
Ari further states that the Lampung government will empower institutional and human resources of the local originations to facilitate better performance and sustain economic growth during tough times.
The Lampung government offers many programs that include training micro, small, and medium enterprises to use digital marketing strategies and know-how to increase their business substantially.
According to a survey conducted by Bank Indonesia’s approximately 83 percentage of 2970 local organizations in Lampung got affected due to the current pandemic situations. Still, around 70 percent of affected regional business originations managed to survive their business as they grew substantially by digitalizing their marketing techniques.
Ari also urged the various MSMEs not to be stuck on dominant platforms since the definition of digital marketing is a broader concept that includes different marketing strategies online.
Local business owners can consider social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Tumbler to advertise or market their products online.
Their job, regarding other establishments, is to provide the MSMEs with guidance and mentorship on product marketing, narration, and picturing together to be prepared for this digital era of marketing.
